Orlando Pride was held on Sunday, October 11, and once again was located around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. David and I met with new Orlando arrivals Brian and Wade. The weather was mostly good, with a small sun shower during the parade. There were dozens of booths set up around the North and West borders of the lake, selling merchandise or food and drink, or providing information. There were speeches and entertainment at the band shell, including Harvey Milk's nephew Stuart. Once again, although there were a lot of people out, there were very few bears; we wonder if there are many left in Orlando. We still had a good day, and for the parade we stood in front of the new downtown Publix. |
